1 day agricultural safari in Uganda
Uganda’s tourism industry has seen an expansion where several products have been added to give tourists a wide range of products that truly reflect their travel goals and ambitions. One of the recently innovated products is agricultural tourism. It is should be noted that Uganda is one of the few countries in Africa with very fertile soils which are ideal for cultivation. There are a lot of agricultural products which are known to be widely cultivated in Uganda and these include bananas, coffee, cotton, cocoa, millet, sorghum, rice, cassava, potatoes, and so many fresh fruits. As regards to dairy farming, the country has got several breeds of local cattle and with modern farming methods in place, interbreeding has become the order of the day. During this 1 day agricultural safari, our guide shall drive you to Bukalasa Agricultural center to gain an understanding of Uganda’s agricultural sector.
Early in the morning after breakfast, our tour guide shall pick you up from your residence or hotel in Kampala and transfer you to Bukalasa Agricultural center. The center was once a cotton breeding center during the colonial rule in 1920 however it transformed into one of the leading agricultural centers in Uganda where several researches are undertaken in animal and crop husbandry and not forgetting soil science. Bukalasa agricultural center is located about 54 kilometers from Kampala. You shall drive along the Kampala -Gulu highway before branching off at Wobulenzi to drive to Bukalasa. Spend the rest of day under a team of experts at the agricultural center while touring the different projects which are being taken at the center. Be willing to listen and ask any question in order to get the best out of the tour. Later, you shall drive back to Kampala to mark the end of your wonderful excursion.
