2 days Kibale National Park Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda
It is a short tour but it is intense due to the activities involved. Book this mighty tour if you have little time of your safari in Uganda yet you would like to recount stories from Uganda. This tour is going to take you to Kibale national park for chimpanzee trekking and other primates; you shall do cycling around the tea estate and take a visit to the Amabere g’nnyinamwiru caves.
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale national park
In the morning after breakfast, you shall drive to Kibale national park. Along the way, you shall make a stopover at the Mpanga tea estate. These estates are so scenic and well-organized. They cover a great landscape and one of the best ways to learn about this estate is by doing a cycling tour. During the cycling tour, you shall witness the estate staff harvesting tea leaves; you could decide to be part of the activity to gain an understanding of what it means to pluck tea leaves. You shall retire from the activity and continue to fort portal town for lunch and connect to the fort portal lake area. On arrival, you shall be welcomed by a local people who understand the history of the area. You shall take a visit to the Amabere g’nnyinamwiru caves- these breasts-like caves are believed to have belonged to Nyinamwiru the daughter of Bukuku, the king of Bachwezi. It is believed that she was denied to breastfeed because his father thought the grand son would take over his throne. Retreat from the activity and continue to Kibale national park. On arrival, you shall check in at your lodge and relax, dine and have a wonderful night.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer back to Kampala.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you shall transfer to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu Tourism center for briefing. The briefing starts at 8am and you shall meet the park rangers who shall accompany you for a chimpanzee trekking safari. Later, you shall begin traversing this rainforest in search of the chimpanzees. As you are trekking, if luck is on your side, you shall encounter other primates and the bird species common to the park. L’hoest monkey, the grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, bush baby, baboons and others can be viewed as you are trekking for chimpanzees. The trekking exercise can take between 1-5 hours and once you encounter the chimpanzee group, you shall be allowed to spot the chimpanzees for a period of 1 hour. During this period, you shall witness the chimpanzees hooting, munching fruits, socializing and carryout different activities. Later, you shall retreat from the activity and drive back to the lodge for refreshment and later, drive back to Kampala to mark the end of the safari.
