3 Days Lake Mburo birding Safari in Uganda
Lake Mburo national park is the most nearest national park from Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. It offers rare opportunities to spot different species of birds due to several lakes and swamps that inhabit the park. Some of the famous species to expect include the shoebill stork, lilac breasted roller, crested francolin. There are over 300 bird species which have been recorded in the park; during these 3 days to Lake Mburo national park, you shall be in position to explore all the wonderful birding species. Day1: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park
Early in the morning, you shall transfer to Lake Mburo national park. En-route, you shall pass by the Equator, make some occasional stops to take photos and later continue along the way while you are searching for any birding opportunity. Uganda is a birding haven, birding practical starts when you land at the airport. Bird species are distributed everywhere. They are not only necessarily found in the park. Later, check in at your lodge. Relax, dine and overnight
Day2: Intense birding at Lake Mburo national park.
The park is blessed with several water bodies which attracts so many species of birds. Early in the morning, you shall proceed to the park for a morning birding experience. You shall move on foot while witnessing several species of birds. Morning hours are always perfect to view the birds as they leave their nests to start the day. You are awakened to several experiences like enjoying little birds being fed by their mothers. Later, you shall move back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, you shall do a birding drive, where you shall drive through the park in search for birds. There are so many species that you are likely to witness and our focus shall be upon the Lesser Blue Eared Starling, Red Billed Wood Hope, Tabora Cisticola, Buff Bellied Warbler, Red Faced Barbet, Coquin Francolin, and others. Late in the afternoon, you shall do a boat cruise to witness other bird species like giant kingfisher, African fin foot and others.
Day 3: birding and transfer back to Kampala.
If you are jetting out the country and you need to be transferred to the airport, after breakfast you shall transfer to Entebbe international airport. However, if you have time in Uganda, you shall use part of day 3 to search out for the species that you missed during the previous day and later, you shall transfer to Kampala to mark the end of the tour.
