5 Days Wildlife Safari and Gorilla Safari in Rwanda
This 5 days wildlife and gorilla safari in Rwanda is an immersive safari which shall enable you enjoy gorilla trekking at Volcanoes national park and wildlife at Akagera national park. Akagera national park is the largest park in Rwanda with a large concentration of Elephants, Impala, Maasai Giraffe, kobs, Antelopes, lions, Elands and others.
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
The safari can either start at the Airport or within Kigali city. Depending on your pickup point, you shall wake up early in the morning, pack your luggage with all the necessary items and wait for your tour guide. You shall meet and greet with the tour guide and later transfer to Volcanoes national park. The park is about 2 hours’ drive from Kigali. Enjoy the beautiful sceneries of the countryside as you drive past savannah grassland hilly landscapes. When you arrive in Ruhengeri, Musanze, check in your lodge. Relax, have dinner and take a deep sleep in order to prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes Rwanda
Gorilla trekking is an impressive activity and is one of the reasons why many tourists visit Rwanda. Every tourist wants to have a glance at these wonderful and gentle giants. Early in the morning after some good breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for briefing; you shall be grouped according the gorilla family that you are to trek. Afterwards, you shall start the gorilla trekking adventure with the help of the park ranger; it is possible to trace gorilla using marks left behind as traces. Park rangers know how to interpret these simple marks and can ascertain the gorillas’ whereabouts. After some hours of trekking, you shall finally encounter the wonderful calm gorilla group. Watch the gorilla for a period of 1 hour before retreating back to the park headquarters. Later, you shall transfer to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Akagera National Park.
Akagera national park is a wildlife haven in Rwanda. It is one of the not-to-miss parks if you decide to come to Rwanda for a wildlife tour. Early in the morning, you shall transfer from Volcanoes national park to Akagera national park. You shall make a stop in Kigali for lunch and embark on journey to the south western part of the country. Arrive in Akagera and check in your lodge. Relax, dine, and enjoy your nights’ stay.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise
Wake up in betimes, take your breakfast and drive to the park for a morning game drive. This marvelous experience shall enable you to view Elephants, Leopards, Impalas, lions, kobs, elands, reedbuck, and other species. After 3 – 4 hours of driving, you shall retreat and move back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you shall drive back to the park for a boat cruise along Lake Ihema. Lake Ihema offers wonderful views of the many aquatic animals. You shall be able to view those creatures up close. Hippopotamus, Nile crocodile, and other bird species shall be observable. Afterwards, drive back to the lodge for dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali
Prepare yourself ahead of time and after breakfast, you shall transfer to Kigali. Upon arrival, you shall visit the Kigali genocide memorial in Gisozi to give tribute to those that lost their lives in the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Finish your tour in style by saying goodbye to your tour guide.
