Gorillas are endangered animal species which have close DNA matchup with human beings. Gorillas are trekked in Bwindi Impenetrable national park; the park is composed of a natural rainforest which is considered to be one of the oldest in Africa. And because of that, the park supports a wide array of flora and fauna. Day By Day Itinerary


Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Early in the morning, the tour guide shall pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe International airport and transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable national park. This journey is about 9 hours. You shall make several stops along the way to freshen up and enjoy some simple sightseeing. You shall stop at the Equator and take some photos, there are many locations along the way where you can buy amazing souvenirs, these could be another stopover points. You shall arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable national park in the evening. Selecting your accommodation shall depend on your tracking section. There are accommodations in every tracking section however Buhoma sector is the most popular tracking section. Move to your accommodation, relax and prepare for tomorrow. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/lodge

Gorilla trekking day.

Wake up early in the morning with a beautiful camera and hiking shoes plus all the necessary items for a great gorilla trekking experience. You shall be driven to the information center where you shall meet with tour rangers and other tourists who are going to do going trekking that day. After briefing, you shall join a group of people who are going to trek the same gorilla group. With the company of a tour ranger, you shall start moving into the dense forest of Bwindi. The tour rangers shall look for marks that show previous gorilla trekking activity, things like the gorilla nest of the previous night are clues to where a particular group might be at that moment. Dung and other eaten bamboo sticks also give clues. After sometime during trekking, you shall be able to observe the gorilla. The trek before spotting the gorilla can take 1-5 hours depending on the gorilla group current location. After viewing the gorillas, you shall be allowed to take photos and be able to watch them from a distance of 10 meters for about 1 hour. Much as you find it tasking to locate the gorillas, a mere sight at the gentle animals shall make you forget all the hassle you experienced before. You shall be transferred to the hotel for relaxation. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay shall be possible at the hotel/lodge. There are occasions of meeting new people at the hotel.

Transfer back to Kampala/airport.

Early in the morning, you shall depart for Kampala or Entebbe international airport depending on your final destination to end your tour. By this time, you shall know what it means to trek gorilla.
